Twin Magazine, Sparkle and Fade, Aldo
If you asked me what I want for Christmas, I would probably say nothing, but that’s not the reality. The reality is that I am perhaps too prideful to admit I want things and will probably buy myself something (after I am done shopping for everyone else, thankyouverymuch!) in the end. I just found out about the publication Twin that’s more like a book than a magazine; each new issue has a theme and the current one out is Ambition. I am also eyeing the second (long sleeved black dress) and possibly those leopard pants. Most of my friends don’t seem to understand my like for animal print, but that’s alright with me; sometimes we like and do things only to please ourselves, better not have shame in these guilty pleasures. There is a lot of black here, so I will have to rethink some of my choices because my closet hints at secret goth. And lastly, I have also been debating about those Also shoes for months, but I can’t decide if they’re too shiny or not. Is there such a thing?
I have been reading a lot the past week. I read a book titled Princess about a Saudi Arabian princess that reveals many of the limitations and social injustices women face in her society. It is hard to believe that the things she described are happening in our modern day world. It’s a heavy topic, but perhaps I will one day share my views on feminism.
Then just this weekend I bought and finished reading Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl. The title is self explanatory, it’s about a high end New York hooker. A total opposite end of the spectrum from the previous book, but it complimented it well. A reviewer on Amazon described it well, “a book about life, choices, fears and successes that everyone has in one form or another.” In this way the book was strangely relatable, whoring aside.
