Let me tell you about the Things I Learned Going Out to a Trendy Club:
- Being a scantily clad young girl does not help you skip the line to go into the club. Not when the door man is gay.
- Being a scantily clad young woman (21+) might help you get through the door, especially if you skipped wearing pants, opting for underwear, and happen to be wearing your best furry boots.
- Being a classy young woman endowed with a beautiful friend with connections provides you with the best club experience possible. It can get you behind the DJ, where it is at least 5 degrees cooler than the rest of the dance floor, and where you have enough room that there aren’t sweaty strangers grinding up against you.
Is it because I’m older now that I liked going out? I didn’t have to scrub off marker from my hands and I hate to admit it, but I enjoyed judging the little Guido boys on their lack of suaveness when approaching girls. Some kids are missing an important link in scoring dates: the double S (shame&skills). Amongst them I felt mature, but although I’ll be 22 in three month’s time I’ve hardly exercised my drinking privileges. However, they’re not much of a privilege unless you’re in the right company, and Liza was a spectacular companion. We had our first drink together and then proceeded to dance for hours, which likely consisted of a lot of stomping and twisting. After the first two I started to think of it as exercise because I had to convince myself I was not feeling any pain in my feet (a fact unable to ignore at 2:30 in the am). A lot of detail omitted, but I had a really good time. Thanks Liza!
P.S. I would have posted my own pictures, but my computer may have crashed. Either way, it’s not working right now.
