This morning I went to Tampa’s Oxford Exchange for some brunch :)

Vintage dress and Kate Spade armadillo earrings and key chain

These were taking a couple of weeks ago on a particularly hot Florida day (I should say, a typical Florida day). The armadillo earrings and the boat were given to me by my lovely friend Noor, who I am sure I will introduce you to soon enough, if I haven’t already.

At the very last minute I saw Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Anderson and it would be no little lie if I told you wanted to see it again. If you believe in love and adventures, I recommend you go watch it.

Currently I’m having some gold fever, pre and post Washed Out show. I thought I was going to the show by myself after poor Rae had to finish a paper, but thankfully some friends met me there and it was a great time! I will post more pictures later, until then you must marvel at the golden nails.

Also, pictured last are a couple of my favorite new things! Especially my Andy Warhol finger puppet, which I got at FMoPA*, where I will be interning for the summer.

*FMoPA: Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. It’s located in a really amazing building and everyone that works in it is very nice and I can’t wait to start in a couple of weeks! The current exhibit is Andy Warhol, thus the puppet.

I never thought I would say this, but I am glad it’s time for shorts again.

Let me tell you, I would wear leather head to toe if it wasn’t so hot.

The jacket is faux, better for your animal friends :)

Chilean friends make the best friends.

I took this ridiculous picture while trying on clothes in a fitting room in hopes of helping me decide if I wanted to buy that top or not, but the reason I am posting it is because I really love my new haircut in it. So the internet must witness it as well…

You guys. Learning an instrument takes a lot of time.

When I wore this bow-tie to my lab Christmas party I made sure to tell everyone I ‘dressed up’. Though, really, I just wanted to wear a bow-tie. Courtesy of Kristen <3

Tonight I celebrated the birth of a dear co-worker over a Greek salad and belly dancers. I wore a sweet (fake) leather jacket I got at a really good deal that I could not resist.

Doctors say I’m the illest cause I’m suffering from realness

Sometimes it’s all too easy to get into a funk, where some daily tasks and work seem so daunting… especially after a nice holiday at which the world seems to pause for a moment.

At this point I force myself to see the positive in those tasks and find myself something fun to do too, such as starting a new painting or learning to play my new ukulele. Sooo liiiike I have things to be excited about. Also Christmas parties… I’m excited about those too.

Trying to figure out how to wear scarves. Can I pull it off, or… can I pull it off? Trying to figure out how to wear scarves. Can I pull it off, or… can I pull it off?

Time Capsule

I found a time capsule I made sometime between 2000-2002. This is what inside:

 • A little piece of paper with the words ‘when I grow up I want to be” and a blank space that I had filled with my writing. The words ‘a doctor' were crossed out and next to it was written 'an actress’. Clearly I’m perusing the wrong career.
 • My favorite song was Slim Shady.
 • I was just learning English, so my favorite food was ‘french frice’. Still is.
 • A Halloween eraser. Matching stick-on Halloween earrings.
 • A card from a teacher thanking me for a card I had handmade for her informing me she will keep it forever. I’m sure she still has it.
 • Another card for a teacher thanking me for a pen I gave her. Again, I hope this teacher continues to treasure this precious gift.
 • Another card (there were a few) from my first teacher in the U.S. telling me I have ‘blossomed into such a nice American student.’ That one was kinda nice :)
 • A series of drawings of kittens with little blurbs of text, let me give you a sample: The Persian kittens are very furry, they have big tales. I’ve recently come to realize they have big tails as well.
 • Why do I have money from Budapest?
 • A note card with words describing me from my classmates, in order: friendly, good listener, nice, nice, nice, nice, intelligent, smart, intelligent, intelligent, smart, intelligent, nice, funny, friendly, smart, smart, nice, funny, funny, intelligent, headstrong, mature, very smart, smart, intelligent, neat, mature, smart, friendly. Clearly, I wasn’t a looker. Props to the kid who said I was headstrong.

If you didn’t guess already, this was really embarrassing to post but so funny I couldn’t resist. I mean, obviously I’m funny, many people have told me this.

I never got what the hype was about with the Naked Palette… until one fateful day when I walked past it and was blinded by the shimmer.
Figuratively.
I was a good girl and put it down but then it was on my mind for days. Needless to say I went back for it. I’ve had it for a few weeks and love the thing! My nails even match it. Thumbs up for brown~ I never got what the hype was about with the Naked Palette… until one fateful day when I walked past it and was blinded by the shimmer.
