When I was younger I could not imagine myself past age 20. I knew what I wanted to do later in life, but I had no idea at what age I’d be able to realistically accomplish all I’ve set out to do. Right now I feel frustrated because despite my nearsightedness I feel that I should be further than I am. I am frustrated because I know the only real obstacle in my way is me. I need to suck it up and get over past disappointments and head forward.

I am interrupting this unintentional blog hiatus to tell you that I am a little bit in love with Grimes. I read an article about her in Dazed and Confused before I heard her music and what I like most is that she comes off as unpretentious; she is off-beat in a good way and her interest in making her music so connected to herself. I can’t say I like every song on her album Visions but it takes me to a different place and at this stage in my life, its a good thing.

I am SO EXCITED because I just learned that Bon Iver will be at Straz Hall the beginning of this June… and I must go. The question is, WHO WILL GO WITH ME?? ANYONE?
There was once upon a time when I sternly looked Trey in the eye and asked (demanded) that I be his muse for a song.
He says I commissioned it, rather than acted as a muse, but it’s a small detail we must all overlook.
On the other hand, what is difficult to overlook is the horrid quality of these photos, but what can you do.* I spent a few hours hanging out (as muse) while Emily, who is an amazing violinist, and Trey worked on the song.

* I guess what I could do to improve the quality of photos is to pay attention to my camera’s settings. But again, lets not get stuck in the details…
I went to the Tycho show tonight; it was visually and musically tantalizing. I will share more photos soon, now I have to get some sleep so I can make it out for some pirate watching at Gasparilla in the morning ;)
